Our Restorative Dental Services in Hoppers Crossing

Things we take for granted with natural teeth – such as talking, smiling and eating our favourite foods – can all become easier again with restorative dentistry.

Sayers Dental Aesthetics & Implants offers a variety of restorative dental treatments that can give your smile a second chance, from natural looking dental fillings to implants.

Crowns & Bridges

A crown is a replacement cap or covering for a tooth. It is used for discoloured, cracked or broken, and heavily filled teeth, or if fillings have been lost.

A bridge is a ceramic structure, filling the gap left by a missing or extracted tooth. A ceramic tooth is bonded between two or more porcelain crowns on either of the missing tooth that serve as support. The anchor teeth are shaped to support the crowns, and then a bridge is bonded securely over these teeth.

Same-Day CEREC Crowns

Same-day crowns, also called chairside crowns or CEREC crowns, are made of ceramic.

They are trending nowadays, thanks to CAD CAM technology, which dentists have incorporated into the crown process. CAD stands for Computer-Aided Designing, and CAM stands for Computer-Aided Manufacturing.

This technology has been perfected for over thirty years. Everything from the preparation of the tooth to fixing the permanent crown is completed within a few hours, in a single dental visit.

Also, same-day CEREC crowns save more of your existing teeth, as they require less preparation/filling than needed for traditional crowns.

Dentures

Dentures are removable appliances that can replace missing teeth and help bring back your smile. If you’ve lost all of your teeth, replacing them with dentures will benefit your appearance and your overall health. Dentures make it more convenient to eat and speak than it is without teeth.

When you lose all your teeth, facial muscles can sag, making you look older. Dentures can be made to resemble your natural teeth so that your appearance does not change much. Dentures can also improve the appearance of your smile.

Gum Treatments

Gum diseases are the inflammation of the gum line that can advance to affect the bone surrounding and supporting your teeth. The stages of gum disease are gingivitis, periodontitis, and advanced periodontitis.

Gum treatments provided at Sayers Dental Aesthetics & Implants are guaranteed safe and effective. They help patients manage their teeth and gums, even at home.

Dental Implants

Dental implants are metal screw-like posts, usually made of titanium, that are surgically placed in the bone of the jaw or skull to support a dental prosthesis such as a crown, bridge, denture, facial prosthesis, or to act as an orthodontic anchor.

When you lose all your teeth, facial muscles can sag, making you look older. Dentures can be made to resemble your natural teeth so that your appearance does not change much. Dentures can also improve the appearance of your smile.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is restorative dentistry?

Restorative dentistry is a dental specialty focused on fixing structural problems, including damaged and missing teeth.

Restorative appliances such as crowns and bridges, dentures, inlays and onlays, and implants can be used to restore the mouth’s full function.

I lost several teeth. What can be done?

Your dentist will determine the best treatment to replace your missing teeth using crowns, bridges, dentures, or dental implants.

Why should I have restorations instead of having the tooth pulled?

Keeping your natural teeth is usually better for your long-term oral health and function, and our dentists will not recommend that you have a tooth extracted unless it is causing damage to your other teeth or oral health.

By restoring the tooth, you can keep your natural tooth longer and continue to enjoy a beautiful smile without the need for more extensive and expensive treatments.
